For sometimes now the department of immigration and customers enforcement has been deporting immigrants that are living in the country illegally, even those that have not committed any crimes. The act has led to various effects especially to the family members that are left behind. Below are some of the adverse effects of deportation to the people that are left behind.

One of the effects is that more children are ending up in foster care. This has happened to those kids whose parents have been proved to be illegal immigrants and they are deported back to their country. Some of their kids that are citizens in the country end up in foster care. Being raised by parents that are not really related is very traumatic especially to those kids that are not used to these kind of life. The second negative effect of deportation is that there are many single parents these days. If one parent is deported, the other remaining family has to provide for the entire family. This is stressful especially in this tough economic times where the income from both parents is needed to keep the family going. The parents are also left with the burden of dealing with the law to bring back the other parent in the country.

The other problem that families are facing is that the parent that is left behind has to face financial difficulties since the other partner is not available. As said earlier on we are living in hard economic times where money is not easy to come by. Hence when one of the family members leaves the other partner has to find a way to make ends meet. The other effect is that people are left with the stress of finding for the family by themselves. Children who have seen their families being deported live with the fear that they might be separated from their families too. worrying too much is not healthy, and it can cause health problems such as intense anxiety episodes.

Those people that have had their family members and loved ones deported are unable to ask for help from law enforcers. When they are facing a threat they are afraid of calling help from the law enforcers because they feat they will do the same to their families. They are also scared of going to hospitals whenever they are sick because they do want to give any information that might make at risk of being deported. For this reason they do not go to hospitals which is risky for their health.

Children from parents that have been deported are unable to focus in their class work. It has also been reported that people that have experienced this separation are expected to develop different mental conditions as a result of the stress they experience.
